In this painting, the artist praises the strength, bravery, and determination of Congolese market sellers who in spite of the economic conditions are willing to earn a living to feed their families. Though not always considered as the main breadwinners of their families, the artist aims to set a different tone to contemporary Congolese women’s economic power.
